Commercial Access Control Systems ....
Commercial security requires many aspects of restricting and
controlling access to various parts of factory and plant.. This may be for
security or safety requirements.
We can advise, plan and implement all aspects of access control systems
from simple one door entry to computer controlled and integrated multifaceted
systems

PROXIMITY compact provides a user friendly way
to unlock a door. User tokens (cards, or keyfobs) are valid straight from the
pack. The door is opened by placing the user token within range of the PROXIMITY
compact reader (typically within 50mm). The tokens are maintenance free. Keyfobs
have a lifetime guarantee.
If a user should lose their token, or for any other reason the user is to be
barred from entry to the building, voiding of their card is made very easy. Each
user token has a matching 'shadow card' which is presented to each door. The
lost card is denied access without affecting the free access required by other
card holders.
Installation of the PROXIMITY compact is equally easy. The compact reader has
two wires which connect to the lock and two wires which connect to the power
supply. The reader contains the complete system electronics. This makes
installation a breeze, but an alternative solutions such as Switch2 should be
used where physical security is important.
Purchase one reader or kit per door. Purchase the number of user tokens you
require for all users on the site. (Remember to add a few more as spares.) Cards
or keyfobs may be purchased in packs of 10, 25, 50 or 100. These items are
presented conveniently in pairs, allowing user tokens to be issued and accurate
records to be kept on the shadow cards without costly administration. Neat card
wallets are provided to facilitate this. When a valid card is presented, the
reader applies power to the lock and the door may then be opened.
When additional cards are required in the future, simply order one or more
packs. The maximum capacity of each reader is 100 packs of any size. An
enrolment card from an existing pack on site enables a new pack: present the old
enrolment card at the compact reader, and within 30 seconds, present the new
enrolment card. Both packs are now enrolled, and all users are valid.

Where it can and cannot be
used |
|
Wet environments
|
PROXMITY compact's circuitry
is completely immersed in hard resin, allowing it to be used in the wettest
situations, including direct water spray.

With single maglocks
NEW
|
PROXIMTY compact has been
uprated so that it can easily drive 1A d.c. continuously, making it suitable
for most single maglocks.
|
|
Abrasive environments
|
All proximity readers are
unaffected by airbourne agents such as sand or dust. The tokens do not have
to make contact with the reader, and there are no replaceable or moving
parts.

Two readers on one door
|
The compact reader is not
designed to be wired in parallel with another compact reader. Faulty
operation may result.
|
| X |
Security sensitive doors
|
The electronics where the
decision to open the door is taken are outside the secure area. This means
that the power and lock wires could be connected together to gain access if
the reader were to be vandalaised. This means that only the vandal proof
compact reader in vandal proof mounting would be acceptable in security
sensitive applications. Most internal doors are not sensitive, but many
external doors are.

Where reporting or central
programming is required
|
Standalone systems such as
PROXIMITY compact are not connected together in a network and do not
communicate with a central point. Therefore, reporting and central
programming are not possible.

Driving a relay
|
Where compact readers are used
to drive relays instead of locks, faulty operation may result. The low
holding currents of relays may cause them to stay closed, even when the
compact is in the off state. Also compacts driving relays are a more
expensive and less professional solution than a reader with a separate
control unit.
